Topic: Accident Investigation 

Bart Leist, CSP; attended Seneca HS, EKU (majored in Law Enforcement and Security) and MBA from Bellarmine University.  Served in USMC as Infantry Officer, retired a Major from reserves after 23 years.  Began safety career at Colgate Palmolive in 1987.  Also worked in safety at Ichikoh Mfg, Ky Trailers, then at Philip Morris.  In year 2000 started Compass Safety providing safety & health consulting services.  Sold Compass Safety in 2020 and started Triad Safety to take me through retirement.  Currently semi-retired with just a few customers, Expert Witness work and volunteer at WaterStep and Southeast Christian Church.  Favorite hobbies include fishing & hunting.  Married with 2 sons & 1 daughter, all grown and out of the house!

Bart will discuss a few tips & tricks learned over a 40-year career involving countless accident investigations.  The challenge of finding the “root cause” is difficult and time consuming, but we do our best!  Right??  Or do we??  This presentation will review a few actual incidents, to include 2 fatalities, a broken ankle, and the thought process of being the “go to person” when disaster strikes.
