Topic: Using ISO 45001 To Continuously Improving Safety Culture
Speaker: Michael L. Walker, PE, Vice President, Principal Engineer
Michael L. Walker, P.E., is a Principal Engineer and EHS leader with more than 40 years of experience helping organizations improve safety performance through structured management systems. As a certified ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 Lead Auditor, he has led numerous gap assessments, program implementations, and third-party audits across a range of industries, including power, chemical manufacturing, and metal fabrication.
Mr. Walker’s expertise integrates OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management Program (RMP), and NFPA standards to address complex operational risks. He has extensive experience leading Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Dust Hazard Analyses (DHAs), with a focus on proactive risk identification and control.
A strong advocate for continuous improvement, Mr. Walker leverages ISO 45001 to help organizations move beyond compliance and build sustainable safety cultures. He is also an experienced instructor, delivering training and workshops that equip leaders and employees to effectively implement and maintain EHS programs.
